About us

The United Confederation of Taekwon-Do having originally been formed as Gardner Taekwon-Do Schools in 2005 was founded by Nicholas (at the time a 4th degree black belt, 6 x world and 4 x European Champion), Adam (at the time a 3rd degree black belt and 2 x world Champion) and Geoffrey Gardner. This once singular family based club has now evolved into a group of professional Martial Arts academies striving to provide the most comprehensive and professional service to the public as possible.

From a physical development perspective the UCT combines traditional and proven Martial Arts methods with scientific training principles. Through these methods the UCT has produced various multiple World and European champions, numerous Black Belts, international instructors, umpires and many successful domestic competitors.

At the heart of the UCT’s training ethos is the promotion of positive family values, respect, confidence and the many desirable character traits which are fostered through sound moral and ethical development. When underpinned by a fun, vibrant and friendly training environment it is our belief that the progression and enjoyment of any individual is maximized.  As a highly innovative and constantly evolving group, the UCT aims to provide the best service to the public whist helping every individual who joins our Martial Arts family achieve and perhaps exceed their potential.

Child Protection Policy

In keeping with the UKTU & UCT Child Protection Policies, all instructors and assistant instructors are required to attend a child protection course and undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check prior to taking up roles as instructors within the UCT.

All instructors and their assistants receive certification confirming their eligibility to instruct within Taekwon-Do confirming their suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults. You can be sure that the UCT will do all that it can to insure the well being and happiness of your child and will insure that they learn in a safe and fully secure environment.

Should you wish to contact the UCT's Child Protection Officer for any reason please do not hesitate to telephone us on 0800 410 1840.
